Powerparts
This logo was for a company specialising in parts for large diesel engines used in earth moving and quarrying vehicles. The heavy, 3D type weight and enlarged letter “O” conveys a sense of power and strength whilst the logo angle and colour gradient give a sense of dynamism.
Playbetter
Playbetter is a coaching firm with a background in tennis. The company was intending to expand into other sports such as golf, so the logo needed to be dynamic but generic. The logo also had to be highly visible and recognisable when used on tracksuits and hoardings.
Freezzone
Freezzone is a aerosol spray for freezing pet waste. The logo had to convey an idea of ice but without looking cold. It also had to work when used on packaging and be instantly recognisable as a brand.
Litebulbs
Litebulbs specialise in energy saving light bulbs. The typeface was chosen to give a technological look, whilst the filament of the stripped-down bulb pictogram was altered to look like a tree, giving an overall environmentally-friendly look.
CASCET
CASCET are a non-profit organisation campaigning against the location of a proposed Eco town in Leicetershire. The logo had to be bold and stand out from a distance, especially when used on protest boards and placards. The intention was to use the pictogram as a warning sign without the need for any other text. A narrow Swiss typeface was used for legibility whilst the dark red colour was used to indicate danger.
AccuSolar
Accusolar specialise in solar panel installations for business and the public sector. The typeface was chosen for its technological feel, whilst the colours represent sunlight and the environment. The circular pictogram represents both the solar cycle and renewable themes, further accentuated by the pointed segments which lead the eye around the circle.
Clarkes
Clarkes are an accident damage repair centre in Leicestershire, dealing with luxury brands such as Mercedes-Benz, Volkswagen and Bentley. The pictogram is shaped like the letter “C” with the segments echoing motion, old-fashioned headlights and clutch/gearbox engineering.
Montforts
Montforts is a high-end luxury leather brand. The pictogram gives a stately, regal and British feeling whilst the wide spacing of the type gives a sense of refinement and quality.
Activate Investigations
Activate Investigations are a broker for private investigators. The pictogram was designed to look like paper documents.
Brave Little Soldiers
Brave Little Soldiers specialise in products for babies and toddlers. The logo was designed to be fun and appealing whilst maintaining a sense of trust through the use of the soldier character. The soldier mascot was specially designed by Pipeline and featured throughout print and internet advertising.
LaserMed
LaserMed are a firm specialising in dermatological laser treatments. The logo was designed to be refined and clinical whilst retaining a sense of trust. Since the firm’s activities were cosmetic-orientated, the light blue colour was chosen to blend with the type of photography characteristic with cosmetic advertising.
Carpet Man
The Carpet Man is an independent carpet fitter and needed a logo that was bold and stood out when displayed on vans. The logo is a stylised representation of the different layers of a carpet, with the typeface chosen to echo The Carpet Man’s friendly and informal service.
Stratetas
Stratetas are a London-based strategic management consultancy. The typeface was chosen to show the company to be business-like and knowledgeable with the pictogram echoing a management structure radiating outwards to workers.
ITS
ITS offer services to parents with children who have special educational needs. Since their treatments services are “integrated” a jigsaw puzzle was chosen as a pictogram since it reflected both integration and children.
EMAS
Occupational therapists operating in the East Midlands area, EMAS needed a logo that was trustworthy, friendly and easily recognisable. A stylised sunflower was chosen for the pictogram and the type set in a complementary blue in lower case to promote trust and friendliness.
ASR Events
ASR Events are a Leicester company who organise events for weddings and parties. They wanted a high-class feel, so a 1920s Art Deco theme was suggested for their logo. The pictogram echoes the fanlight windows associated with the early 20th century but is also reminiscent of a champagne fountain. The main typeface continues the 1920s feel whilst the wide-set “Events” gives a feeling of quality and refinement.
